The 65th Congress of the International Institute of Public Finance (IIPF) was held in Cape Town, South Africa, from August 13 through 16, 2009 and dealt with Public Policy and Development.

Given this topic, the conference has been generously sponsored by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), as this is their main field of activity, working on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
